The Borean Tundra is located in the far western edge of Northrend, and is the home of the tuskarr, Drakkari trolls, and blue dragons. The Undead Scourge and the naga also inhabit the zone. Important landmarks of the region include the tuskarr capital of Kaskala and the Riplash Ruins. Coldarra is an island just off the coast. Kaskala is currently under siege and the tuskarr have moved to Unu’pe.

Exit Orgrimmar’s main entrance, and head to the Zeppelin tower in Durotar (see map). Climb up the Zeppelin tower and stand next to a Goblin called Greeb Ramrocket . Once the Zeppelin arrives, get onboard. The Zeppelin will set sail for Warsong Hold, in the Borean Tundra.

Run to Stormwind Harbour, in Stormwind City, and get on a boat called The Kraken (see map). The boat will sail to Valiance Keep in the Borean Tundra.

Quest Level: 71
Faction: Horde and Alliance
Quest Giver: Raelorasz (see map below)

Your first task when you when you get off the Zeppelin, in either Warsong Hold or Valiance Keep, is to find Raelorasz to pickup the daily quest Drake Hunt. The best way to do this is to first run to a dwelling called Amber Lodge and speak to a large dragon called Surristrasz (see map below). Surristrasz will offer you a flight allowing you to speak to Raelorasz.

If you have never spoken to Raelorasz before you will need to complete a couple of pre-requisite quests, which he will give you. Speak to Raelorasz and pickup the quest Basic Training. When you have completed Basic Training, speak to Raelorasz and pickup Hatching a Plan. Once you have completed both quests you can pickup Drake Hunt and complete it daily.
Raelorasz wants you to use the Blood-tipped Spear to subdue a Nexus Drake Hatchling and return it to him at the Transitus Shield.
Provided item: [Raelorasz's Spear]
Step 1: Locate the Nexus Drake Hatchlings (see map below for location).

Step 2: Select a Nexus Drake Hatchling and activate Raelorasz’s Spear. Once you use the spear, the hatchling will attack you. All you have to do is stay alive for 25 seconds, until which time the hatchling will become friendly. Once the hatchling becomes friendly, you have 3 minutes to return to Raelorasz with it (the hatchling will follow you whever you go).
The Nexus Drake Hatchlings fly in the air, about 30 yards out. So when you get to the location marked on the map, look up.
If you are having a problem targeting a hatchling, type in your chat window:
/target Nexus Drake Hatchling
If you are having problems activating the spear type:
/use Raelorasz’s Spear
Or you can simply make a macro with both commands:
/target Nexus Drake Hatchling
/use Raelorasz’s Spear
You can use your flying mount to fly back to Raelorasz once the hatchling is friendly.
Press escape, then video options. Look for a setting called Terrain Distance.

This quest can be difficult and frustrating the first few times. Don’t give up, keep trying and you will get the hang of it.Important: Before you being, make sure to enable the interface options Auto Self Cast& Cast Bars in your interface options.
Step 1: Cast Revivify on your drake five times, and also cast Flame Shield. Keep them both on you at all time.
Step 2: Pull a Scalesworn Elitewith two Flame Spikes, and then cast Engulf in Flames.
Step 3: Recast Revivify on your drake.
Step 4: Cast two more Flame Spikes, and then Engulf in Flames.
Step 5: Repeat until the Scalesworn Elite is dead.
Repeat: 1 – 1 – 1 – 1 – 1 – 5 – 3 (in short cycle).
1 = Flame Spike
5 = Flame Shield
3 = Revivify
Scalesworn Elites cast Arcane Surge. Watch the enemy cast bars at all times because Arcane Surge can come up at any time, and can be deadly.

Cast Time: 3 sec cast
Description: Blasts an enemy with arcane energies, inflicting 23563 to 26437 Arcane damage per 1 sec. for 3 sec.
If you do not get credit for kills, make sure you are not in a raid group. If weird things start to happen, disable your addons. To make sure you have properly disabled your addons, and cleared any corrupt cache folders, locate your World of Warcraft directory, and delete (or rename) the folders called “WTF” “Cache” and “Interface”.
That wraps up this mini-guide. I hope you found it helpful. Please take a moment to visit our forums and register. Thanks.
